unable to look away

watching my pain 

culminate

in humiliation

and despair

growing over the decay

creating a facade

hoping no one will notice

I’m crumbling from within

Far I have come,

fallen from your life.

Looking down from your high place

judging, staring, glaring.

I’m trapped in your gaze

Growing in the darkness,

living in the dank,

Finding myself clawing

biting, casting away

any form of warmth

caught, trapped, confined
