my insecurities

take me down a path

of indecision

and needless loss

I follow you with my eyes

leading me, capturing me

your strength pulls me forward

I await the inevitable

as I slip and slide

the crash will come

the tilt, the changes

my perfectly erected world

will fall

I walk the path that leads me where

I least expect, I’d never dare

Finding a life away from despair

weaving, curving, pulling me forward

Fearful of the steps forward

that I’m forced to take

Wondering, will they hold

I chase after a new path

to take me somewhere 

far from this stupor 

shrouding my mind

debris strewn paths

lie in my wake

As the light fades, 

fear rises

for I cannot 

see the unknown

I seek a path

that will find my way

I’ll follow the light

which brightens my day
