With each step,

I fear the fall

Pushing forward

without a way

I delve into these

cold, unknown waters

Lit pathways cast shadows,

hidden, secluded, away

looking and searching,

hoping to find

an answer to why

down I tumble

falling down this 

unavoidable, deadly

road in my heart

descent into the unknowable,

delving into the unattainable
