trickling down

slowly my heart pours

distracted from noticing

unable to see

my life leaving

Just beyond,

past merely existing,

lies a possibility

Hidden in the shade

Afraid to seek the light

Trapped, facing a world ahead

unwilling, unable, 

to leave this cage

one by one,

memories flow away

slowly I turn numb

I shiver in fear 

your voice won’t stop echoing

with words of failure
