anxiety plagues 

my every waking thought

my every sleeping moment

all the moments I exist

all the ones I don’t

I can’t let go

fragile is my being

I break with little effort

bitter regrets, left wishing

for the strength to withstand

the ever blowing breeze

I swim in your waves

hoping to find

your obscured, broken heart

hiding your beauty

coming to an end,

fading slowly, my heart yearns

pulling my hopes down with me

Set me free, Let me be

I wish to fly, oh so high

Beyond the world, away

I run, I hide,

never looking 

for the me who lies

Rising from below,

The fire within,

wells from my soul

an echo of an echo

I repeat and rehash

inexplicable frustrations

of my failing self 

I mimic your desires

I am but a rippled reflection

As the day ends

I find myself again

the world closes off for me

and I can finally be free
